2. Due to stability of the continent, ancient species have survived for millions of years
3. It means species that are found nowhere else in the world.

5. Queensland, Western Australia, South west botanical Province
6.
7. Pouched animals, e.g. koala, kangaroo
8. Egg-laying animals e.g. platypus
9. There is no difference, they belong to the same family, the only difference is that wallabies are a bit smaller.
10. The duck-billed platypus female lays 2-3 eggs in burrow. The have black-webbed feet and can live on land and water. They are the only venomous furred animal. They have waterproof fur which withstand cold temperatures.

Exercise 1.11
1. Coal, Oil, and natural gas
2. Solar, Wind, Hydro
3. Australia is looking to develop clean energy sources because there is an increasing concern over the environment, and climate change in particular.
4. Aus, China, US, and India
5. 76 billion tonnes
6. 4 billion dollars worth
7. Huge station technology developed to power satellites and consist fields of mirrors each covering 0.8 kms
8. Large turbines are turned by wind, generating electricity
9. Advantages
it is a renewable source
It will supply electricity to 18000 households.
2% of South Australia will be covered\
Disadvantages
It will cost $65 million dollars
It will consume a lot of space
It will rely on the weather which is unpredictable

10. I believe that sources such as solar, wind and hydro are good, as they are a renewable source, and they have many advantages and rely on weather, which suits Australia.
11.
13. The basins of natural gas and oil are located in big clumps on the edge of WA, is found between Tasmania and Victoria, and a large basin is found in the lower half of Queensland, north-east of New South Wales and in northern regions of SA. There are pipes leading to all the major cities.

Australias Natural Resources #2

2. Who is Australia's largest import partner? What do they import from them? How much? Why do you think that Australia imports these goods from this country?

Australia's largest import partner in China, again, with a main import percentage China has of 17.94%.

And the main products they import include; Machinery and transport equipment, computers and office machines, telecommunication equipment and parts; crude oil and petroleum products.

The main reasons Australia seems to import these certain goods, from these certain goods, from these certain countries because Australia may be deficient in these goods and require electronic devices that may be at a cheaper cost from other countries than from making them here in Australia.

Australias Natural Resources #1

1.  Who is Australia's largest export partner? What products do they export with them? How much of each product do they export? For what purpose does that country need the products they import from Australia?

Australia's largest export markets are Japan, China, South Korea, India and USA. But the largest partner to Australia is China, with a main export percentage of 21.81%. The closest main export to China is Japan with a percentage of 19.19%.
Australia is a major exporter of agricultural products, particularly wheat and wool, minerals such as iron-ore and gold, and energy in the forms of liquefied natural has and coal. They also use machinery, and transport equipment.
The purpose of other countries receiving these exports, vary from agricultural desires to animal and food needs. For example other countries may need machinery or transport equipment to further develop their country with Australian made goods.
